I can't draw anything more than a stick man. Seriously. And even he might be pretty questionable.
But inside me, there's an inner artist who deeply appreciates all the colors and textures and forms that art can take - paintings, sculpture, photography, textiles, music, architecture, and the written word - just to name a few.
When I'm not focused on words - written by clients in my role as book publisher, or written by myself in my role as screenwriter and freelance writer - I need an outlet besides reading and somehow color and art always come into play. I've always had a good eye for photography, but I've never done much with it, until now!
A few months ago, I opened an Etsy shop to sell photographic prints and canvases. I loved the process, but felt I needed to do something a bit more, something that offered a little more creativity for more of my images. A friend, Ms. Contrary, talked me into opening a Zazzle shop and I've been amazed at how much fun it is to figure out what to do next. (It could actually be two full-time jobs, it's rather addictive!)
Last night, I created a couple of pieces that gave me such great delight. I took a photo, then turned it into this funky art. Now, at my TMPixArt store, you can find this art on some fun and practical items. Here's are two bathroom sets I created with two very different kinds of art work I created last night from a single photo.
My "Pop Art" Collection Shower curtain, ceramic tile, and bathroom set of toothbrush holder and soap dispenser.
My Sunset Flare Collection Shower curtain, ceramic tile, and bathroom set of toothbrush holder and soap dispenser.
The great thing about Zazzle is that the designs can be offered on such a wide variety of products, and most of my designs can be customized to fit your needs. You can add your own text, like names to notebooks or mouse pads or contact information to luggage tags and tablet covers. You can even choose background colors or different sizes on some items.

Original Photography Turned into Art
Some funky, some beautiful.
Some bold, some gentle.
Some playful, some romantic.

I love your Sunset Flare design, Tracy, it's so vibrant and festive! You're right about how addictive designing can be. I can't wait to check out your Zazzle store!
Thanks so much! That's one of my favorites, too. I'm having so much fun trying to figure out what to create next.
